Traveling Artist Program – The Artist Story and Mini Art Exhibit – Our goal is to take "Art" out into the community as well as into classrooms. We have a wonderful mix of international, national and local artist that have signed up for this Series of Lectures. Each presentation will feature an artist telling "their own story" and displaying 8-10 pieces of their work. If you are a teacher/school, church, community center, senior citizens organizations, corporate or business organizations, retirement communities and would like more information about this program please call Jeanie at 772-6676 as we anticipate this FREE program will book quickly. The program will run July 2003 through July 2004. Artist, J. C. Hall will graciously host a Garden Reception at his home in his lovely garden on Sunday, June 22, 2003 from 2-4:00 to launch this year long program to the public and to Directors of said organizations.

Harper Art Show

The Sharonville Fine Arts Council honored Charley Harper with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2nd Annual Evening With The Arts in September 2003. Plan to attend the following art show and reception.

Hamilton County Park District and the Hyde Park Framers & Gallery at Oakley Square present the annual Harper Art Show at Sharon Woods in the beautiful Sharon Centre. Works from Charley, Edie and Brett Harper will be featured at this art show. Art show attendees can see Mr. Harper’s newest release, The Edge, at the show. The inspiration for this piece came from The Edge of Appalachia Preserve in Adams County, Ohio.

Show hours are Wednesday, November 10 through Sunday, November 14 from 11: a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be a reception where the public can meet the artists on Saturday and Sunday, November 13 and 14 from 2: to 5:00 p.m. The reception will include Harper’s autobiographical program at 2:30 p.m. both days.

Framed and unframed prints will be available for purchase, as well as a host of other Harper items for the long-time collector and those who are just beginning to collect. New items from the Harper collection that will be available in Nature’s Niche include the Trillium and Barn Owl ornaments and adornments. Beguiled By The Wild, a coffee table book of Charley Harper’s art, is back in print and available at Nature’s Niche Stores. The Harper Art Show is free and open to the public. A valid Hamilton County Park District Motor Vehicle Permit is required to enter the parks. Permits are available at the park entrance booths for $1.00 daily or $3.00 annual fee.

 

Annual Afternoon Tea and Art Exhibit - Sunday May 18, 2003 held at the Evergreen Mansion on Galbraith Rd.  We featured a vintage hat display and a modern hat display by Chapeau Creations, Ms. Ruth Kropveld.   This exhibit included over 20 international, national, regional, and local artists followed by an afternoon tea and "elegant" catering by Elegant Fare.     

Traveling Artist Garden Reception held on Sunday, June 22, 2003 hosted by national artist J. C. Hall in his "picture perfect" garden.    

2nd Annual "Evening with the Arts Gala"  - Sharonville Convention Center held on Friday, September 16, 2003.    This event featured over 30 artists with a reception and exhibit.  Dinner was followed by Lifetime Achievement Awards to international artists Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi and Mr. Charley Harper.  Live performances by a few of the Starling Chamber Orchestra students and a silent auctioned concluded the evening.  The event was emceed by Rob Braun, local TV personality. 

Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park Art Fair - the SFAC had a  booth  Friday, October 10 - 12, 2003 at the first art event to be held at this gem of Butler County.  The featured artist was Karlos McAfee presenting his wire sculptures, a great complement to this spectacular setting.  Music was provided by cellist, Jade Kurlas and dulcimist, Caron Ward.    

The First Annual City of Sharonville "Howl O’Fest" and "Trail O’ails" is scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2003 from 11:30 to 4:00 p.m. in downtown Sharonville on Depot Square. The Day’s Events will include a parade, juried or judged costume event as well as the SFAC artist booths. One booth will be of school children art work entries in the theme of dogs or dogs in costume. The second booth will feature art work for sale by many known artist in our area. Each piece will be priced at $100.00 or less. Artist and children wishing to participate in the show should call Jeanie at 772-6676 for a registration and sign up packet. This is going to be a howling good time – so if your dog would like to participate in the days activities please register on the City of Sharonville website.

November/December 2003 Holiday Art Walk - The City of Sharonville kicks off the Holiday Season Friday, November 28 with a Tree Lighting Ceremony and festivities on the Downtown depot Square starting at 6:00 pm.  The SFAC will participate by having an old fashioned Art Walk and reception immediately following the tree lighting ceremony.  The Art programs will run each weekend through the 3rd week of December.
